Role Description

As a UI/UX designer, I am responsible for gathering feedback and increasing user interaction with the website. I helped create entire workflows that gathered information and responses from users. Then, I take that information and collaborate with leadership, marketing, tech, revenue and activation teams to bring forth features that would best serve our platform and users.

Projects

G-Next is the current big project. A complete overhaul of our systems including upgrading our AI search capabilities. The searching system and flow of the old G-Commerce was archaic and missing key features that most modern online marketplaces have.

I was responsible for gathering feedback on specific systems that were already in place. I took those responses and created action items to corresponding teams to develop a scalable website that’ll be able to handle the increased onboarding of SKUs alongside the eventual and gradual increase of users. We wanted to create a new iteration that felt easier to use and modernized.

First thing I was tasked with was to fix the search bar (or the non-existence of one).

One of the most consistent pain points we received was how unintuitive the search process was. I took our old outdated website, created a few mock ups of what it would look like and worked alongside the tech team to finalize our new look. The final product provided a better system and proved that government procurement doesn’t also have to be boring looking. User base has increased by 24% since I joined.

Next project was to update vendor admin portals.

Once the purchaser side of things received some time and love, we moved onto updating the vendor dashboards. The old one was a system that had repeatedly received bandage patches, making it a huge mess. I contacted vendor representatives and identified areas that needed fixing. We took that to teams and fixed the general feel of the portal alongside back end issues.

Side Works:

I was also tasked with helping marketing with email design. Below is a before and after of how our email campaigns looked. I took our branding and helped create a more modernized, minimalistic style that’ll better appeal to our user base of government personnel. Click rate has increased by 54%, attributed revenue by 24% and conversion value by 17%.
